Swift Review – Blood of Assassins (The Wounded Kingdom #2) by R.J. Barker

Blood of Assassins

Blood of Assassins is the second book in R.J. Barkers The Wounded Kingdom trilogy.

It picks up a period of time after the end of Age of Assassins, Girton club-foot and his master have been travelling together the entire time, from the outset you can how their adventures has changed them both… especially Girton.

Girton now wields a new weapon and this reflect how he has changed, like his personally it is a less refined and more destructive. However at the start of the book something happens which forces Girton to reflect in on his new personality and determine who he truly is.

Blood of Assassins has somewhat of a slower start and is more polictical than Age of Assassins was however this in no way hurts the overall pacing of the book and its start story. In actual fact I think it somewhat helps deliver some gravitous to the  the book and what happens as the story progresses as well as its gripping end.

One aspect of this book I adored is the insite R.J. Barker gives us into the relationship between Girton and his master, as we get to more occasins where Girton has to deal with certain situations when his master is not with him.

Blood of Assassins is a fantastic sequel to Age of Assassins and it has me hyped for what is come in the final book of the trilogy, King of Assassins.

If you have read Age of Assassins then I highly recommend Blood of Assassins.
